Tableau Tuesday - Hair

Lately, The Youngest has decided to not cut his hair. At. All. he's 8, in second grade, and that's fine with me.

He was getting lots of flak from parents around when he said, "I am going to grow it to my ankles, because I want to look like a hippy." He's learned a new tactic that shuts them all up though. After his hippy desires are known, and the additional commentary, he says, "Once it gets to my ankles, I'm going to cut it all off and donate it to make wigs for people with cancer."

Man, I love that kid!

Monday (nearly Tuesday) Weekend Wrap Up

I am TIRED!!!

Friday morning, started getting phone calls first from Sis, then from Mom. Dad was in the hospital with chest/stomach pain. It wasn't his Heart (which has had it's share of issues), but his Gall Bladder - a new ailment for him. He spent the better part of the weekend in the hospital while they tried to get his blood pressure stabilized and get him back to eating, pain free. He was released on Sunday, and will try to manage this with diet. So that was pretty much all of my Friday.
Saturday was a baseball practice for The Youngest, and the 50th anniversary for an Aunt and Uncle. We stayed overnight at The Dude's Mom's, and it was a nice and relaxing visit, but I did shoot the event, which is tiring. I drove both directions, and that added to my fatigue. Staying up VERY late on Saturday did not help.
Sunday was the trip home, and laundry, and more laundry, oh and working on The Oldest's science fair project.
Today was a BUSY day at work with only two 30 minute breaks, during which I set up the testing environment for the science fair project, and rescued The Dude from having locked his keys in the truck. After school was testing the science fair project and The Youngest's first baseball game this season. I took The Oldest early from the game to complete the project (which included a trip to the next town to weigh the project) and practice his instruments. There is laundry still all over my bed, and I just don't have the energy to fold and put away laundry. Maybe tomorrow night...

But now? Now I need some sleep.

Music Monday - Chickenman

A Friend forwarded a link to the creator of this show, which sent me on a quest to figure out what it all was about.
I found this on You Tube, and am liking him more and more:

Living in Dublin, CA gives me (and Kathy) a HUGE advantage on this week. I took HUNDREDS of photos during our parade and festival:

First up are some of our parade, which circles downtown, and includes every Elementary School, Middle and High School Bands, volunteer organizations, animals, all of the sports leagues, and pre-schools too!

This is the banner and mascot for The Boys' school:

Tableau Tuesday 3/15/2011

Hi all! I took tons of photos over the last week, though I missed a seriously awesome opportunity :-(

This is what my week was like - though you will see more on Friday, during MTSO.

My Town Shoot Out - Chaos

This week's Theme is courtesy of the My Town Shoot Out gang.
"Chaos! A condition or place of great disorder or confusion.A disorderly mass; a jumble. An abyss; a chasm."
Check out the other participants here and here.

I had a couple of really great ideas for this one, and then I was thrown for a loop this week by running into the Mythbusters crew and Tom Hanks... And I was WITHOUT MY CAMERA!!! What. The. Hell. I beat myself up about being such a horrible photographer, and then resolved to not ever go anywhere without at least my phone (which I had left in the car...). Oh, and it was also The Youngest's 8th Birthday this week, so dinner with the grand parents and a kid party. I also found out I have an upcomming business trip to St. Louis, AND I'm being courted at work for another position...Oh, and the local St. Patrik's Day Parade and Festival, which you will see next Friday. Given all of that, this is the ONE shot I thought fit the bill for this wek (the whole week was utter chaos, if you ask me).
Happy Weekend all!

Weekend wrap up

This was a crazy busy weekend! There was a minimum day for The Boys on Friday and the DI regional tournament all day Saturday. The Boys slept over at my sister's, while The Dude and I went to dinner, and I drank too much. I'm sure it had something to do with nothing much eaten all day as well as not having enough water. Sunday, The Boys had a play date and I went to lunch with a friend, and finished laundry and grocery shopped. This is The Youngest's birthday week and there is still a bunch of planning to do.

Tableau Tuesday 3/1/2011

Another week of shooting and processing quickly, so I had a few good shots. Some were taken during my pursuit of MTSO, or on a field trip. Others were just things that interested me on my walks. All were shot in and around the SF Bay Area over the last week.
