My Town Shoot Out, and Sunday Stills

Both Challenges that I have been neglecting chose the same theme for the same week, so I get a two-fer! And I have little excuse not to jump right into both!

The theme this week is Texture.

For My Town Shoot Outs, I recommend going to look at everyone's home towns. You can find us all in the comments of Patty or Reggie Girl's Blogs, or in the sidebar from Gordon or GingerV. I did not get very far from home - all shots taken in my back yard!

For Sunday Stills, you can find all of the participants in the comments of the link.

I enjoy participating in both challenges, but it is sometimes a challenge just to get to all the posts (at least 70 combined), navigating through ie issues, commenting, and sometimes even coming up with a comment that has more meaning than just, "nice shots". That is part of the reason I haven't been joining in recently - the whole work life balancing act added to visiting and thoughtfully commenting on 70 posts was too much. This week, I will indeed try to get to all of them, though no promises.
Roofing Composite Tiles on my shed out back:The roof of my patio cover - corrugated aluminium:Bark on the wood pile on the side yard. I fiddled with the lighting and contrast:
Mossy bark on the wood pile:
The tire on a hand truck. I really like the sharp edges on this shot:
Wood on the back gate:
You can even find texture on a leaf with cobwebs:
Or on the head of my Youngest:
A Paintbrush worn and weather beaten. It reminds me of tall grass and autumn:

yes you are right making comments on all the shoot out gang's blog has become hard to manage, I try to 'follow' most of them I get a tag on my dashboard when an entry is posted, and I go back on their blog to the last time a read it... am still missing plenty. about mid week I go to the gang's friday shoot out page and read what everyone has been saying and to catch new entries....
sorry back to MY comment - the tire is a great shot, I have started playing with geometric shapes and have always loved wood, old, new, still on the tree or not wood always has beautiful texture. have a great weekend

I think we can only do so much and I try and add a few of the new ones each week but there is only so much time in the day. Always love coming here. I too love that tire. Great.
Have a blessed weekend!

Nice shots, j9. I am a relative newcomer to the m-t-s-o, and can see that it must be hard to manage. Probably not possible to visit and comment on everybody's effort, but I am finding it fun to see how people interpret the places they inhabit.

awesome shots! the tire and paint brush are my favs. it is getting harder to see everyone's post, since this gang is growing daily it seems. I hope someone can come up with a solution so it would be easier to visit all the posts. ??

Love the bark and the leaf, AND isn't it funny, how similar the paintbrush and the hair? I can say that because it could be mine!!! Ha!
It is hard keeping up, isn't it? There are days when I just have to let it go and tell myself it is something for fun, right?

great photos! I like them all so antique so unique!

Can I grab one of my favorites to post on my blog? I am planning to post a collection of Friday shoot out of my favorites in one post every week. It will link back here to let them see more of your photos. If it's okay with you.

This is a beautiful series of the challenge. I specially like the tire, its intricate detail. I join quite a few memes and I understand where you are coming from. I welcome comments and I likewise always return the favor. In my short span of time blogging I have been around the globe virtually and have made friends (cyber) It is fun and I am enjoying it. Have a great week.
Thanks for your comments and visit here

Did I miss your post? My. I know I have been busy but a week behind? Sorry.

I loved all your textures. You really know how to lay them out and some could even be in that Whatsiz thingie that drives me crazy.

When will Gordon be back?
