Sunday Stills

This week's challenge was Reflections. I don't generally take many photos that I would consider a part of this grouping, but I went through my archives and found 2, both taken during our trip to Yellowstone this past summer.

The first is of a geothermal Pool, and the tops of the trees reflected in it.

The second is the reflection of the mountains in a window in Nevada City - a Living Museum.

I also realize I missed Photo Friday this week - shame on me because I got some cool stuff this week. Those will go into next Friday's post because I want to add this video here. It is simple, and powerful, and I feel it needs to be shared. Thank-you Barry for getting the word out!

I love the colour of the pool, but also the old window with the blue sky and the mountains...

I like the pool shot. You don't notice the trees until you look at the reflection. The log is a nice touch too.

That geothermal pool is very interesting.......definitely a different look from the usual water reflections.

In my haste to get these up today, between coughing fits, I failed to note that the geothermal pool is in the middle of a barren landscape, and I had to do quite a bit of manuvering to get the shot I wanted. The window reflection was kind oif a happy accident as I was only mildly hoping to catch a ghostly reflection, as the house I was shooting is reported to be haunted.

I loved both shots, but especially the pool. I use the term "happy accident" when I am doing watercolor painting...:)
