Sunday Stills

This week's Sunday Stills Challenge theme is In Motion. My entries were all taken during my youngest's Baseball practice.

For this one, I had my oldest bounce a tennis ball into the youngest's gear bag. Not sure if I like it, but it was something I wanted to try.

This is the team going on a warm up run, led by their coach. Seven kids all in motion!

This is a shot of my oldest's feet as we were playing hopscotch. He did this move where he turned around and clicked his feet together mid air, like an Irish Dancer, I thought it was really cool and surprising, and asked him to do it again and again, until I got a good shot. It really only took 3 tries.

All of this week's photos - including the Photo Friday ones were DOOC - Directly Out Of Camera, no retouching or even cropping on these. I've found myself doing a TON of photo shopping of pics, and need to get back to original shots as I was getting a bit carried away with the color saturation.

I love the hopscotch photo too! Amazing how agile kids are and how quickly we, as adults, forget the simple joys in life.

Great shot!

Thank-you all for the compliments! I was plying hopscotch with him, and we were having a blast! I forgot how much fun it was, and was a bit hesitant at first - wondering if my knees could take it, and not wanting to look like a fool in front of the other parents. Then I decided that the foolish action would be to pass up this opportunity to play with my boy!

I loved the tennis ball -- well, I loved all of them, but thought the tennis ball was a really neat idea. Great shots!

Know what you mean about, "out of the camera." In the old Dark Age days of dark rooms, you could only play with burning and dodging for so long.

Adobe Photo can be addictive. I usually do a crop and a few dodge/burn moves for important photos that I send up to the paper, but when I am playing, I can get caught up in CS3 for hours. So many fun things to do!

A perfect expose is great, but a photo that says something can be out of focus or too dark, and be better than a pretty picture that says nothing but, "I am a pretty picture.", so I tell people not to get too hung up on perfection because that, "out of the camera" look can be most fascinating.

We are still on for churches for next Friday--see my reply to your post.

All neat shots -- I like the boys running, all leaning the same way. Thanks for your comment on my ducks, you're right, the 2nd pic was a palindrome. I planned that. (right!) Except for cropping, mine were OOTC also -- find I am spending too much time with Photoshop!!!
